Haiti Verite is a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing relationships with the people of L'Asile, Haiti, to aid in the support of the Haitian people in educational, medical and economic areas, and to raise the overall awareness of the plight of the people of Haiti.
Haiti Verite is made up of a group of non-paid volunteers, both professional and private, who contribute their time and resources to accomplish our mission.
Why Haiti?
At first glance, Haiti is an overwhelming task. It is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Our decision was to concentrate our efforts in one area, the city of L'Asile, Haiti and the parish of St. Joseph's in the southwestern section of the country. L'Asile is a mountainous area with no electricity, no sewage, no running water, no major hospital, and a very poor economy.
How do we accomplish our mission? ------verite

Visiting-We show we care by travelling to L'Asile twice a year to be with the people |

Education-We supply educational materials and training to schools |
|
Relationships-We establish close personal relationships with the people of L'Asile |
|
Involvement-We work together with them on various projects |
|
Trust-We try to create a loving trust between us and the people of L'Asile |
|
Enable-We strive to enable the people to be self-reliant in economic endeavors |
